Free face-to-face training: Understanding and support for students on the Autism Spectrum in Early Childhood and Primary Education

AIPA, Association for the Inclusion of People with Autism, in collaboration with the Provincial Directorate of Education of Salamanca, Junta de Castilla y León, offers this valuable training with Marlene Horna Castiñeiras, a prestigious national speaker and expert in autism. This collaboration has been possible thanks to the commitment and work of the CFIE of Ciudad Rodrigo and Salamanca.

Once again, the Provincial Directorate of Education of Salamanca demonstrates its high level of involvement with people with special needs, those with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and with inclusive education in general.

Speaker

Marlene Horna Castiñeiras

Degree in Social and Clinical Psychology with health qualification, Diploma in Advanced Studies and in Criminology, and Master’s degree in Early Intervention from the University of Santiago de Compostela. For several years she has worked in diagnosis, intervention, guidance, training and research in the Early Care Unit of the University of Santiago de Compostela. She continued her professional work as a technical advisor in the ASPANAES association team.

Currently she works privately and in the Bata Autism Association giving support to people on the autism spectrum and their families in their natural environments (home, school, community).

She has extensive experience as a speaker, advisor and trainer in courses promoted by various organizations, associations and institutions.

She is the author of the book “Children on the Autism Spectrum. Practical strategies for educational support” by Editorial CCS

Training content

Helping the entire educational community understand the particular cognitive style, way of relating, strengths and challenges of these students with ASD will be key to being able to provide them with specialized attention and support that guarantees their equal opportunities, participation in school life, the achievement of academic learning and emotional well-being. This course will show us the appropriate strategies to achieve it this in Early Childhood and Primary Education.
